PSM CDROM : How to Fix Slideshow Playback Issue

Problem

Slideshow playback is not functioning correctly

Cause

PSM videos use a special codec (IV50) that is not enabled by default on the affected operating systems.

Solution B

(Please note that depending on your version of Windows, what you see may vary slightly from what is shown in the screenshots taken from Windows 10)

On the affected computer, open the Windows Command Line tool (CMD) in Administrator mode:

  1. Click on the Start button in the Windows taskbar
  2. Type ‘CMD’
  3. Right-click on the icon
  4. Choose ‘Run as administrator’

In the CMD window, type the following commands:

  1. CD \windows\SysWow64
  2. Regsvr32 ir50_32.dll

Insert the PSM CD-ROM into your computer. If Autoplay runs automatically, choose ‘Run PRESENT.EXE’

If Autoplay doesn’t run, follow these steps:

  1. Open Windows File Explorer
  2. Right-click on the CD/DVD-ROM drive icon
  3. Choose ‘Open Autoplay…’
